The role of green public procurement in driving demand for low carbon products

This online session will focus on the findings of a report produced by LeadIT and UNIDO on the role of green public procurement in driving demand for low carbon products.  The session aims to address the opportunities and implications related to the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industry sectors, such as the iron and steel and cement sectors. The discussions, which LeadIT’s Head of Secretariat Gökce Mete will participate in, will explore how to design GPP programmes that can accelerate investments in capital-intensive low carbon technologies.

The event is aimed at policymakers and industry players who want to understand GPP programmes, and it is part of an extended programme of side events that takes place prior to the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) from 11 to 22 October.
