The Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) was launched by the prime ministers of Sweden and India with support from the World Economic Forum (WEF) during the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit on 23 September, 2019, in New York.
The Management Board
Representatives from Sweden, India and the World Economic Forum make up LeadIT’s Management Board. A Technical and Expert Committee, made up of LeadIT member representatives, advises the Board. The Board approves new members and decides on the workplan of the Secretariat.
Per has 20 years of experience in policy making and multilateral partnerships, having worked as a civil servant in Sweden, the UN and the EU on issues including sustainability and innovation, industry policies, as well as climate and environmental affairs.
Within LeadIT, Per heads the Secretariat, coordinating its work to ensure LeadIT is reaching the objectives set and agreed upon by its Board and its Members. Per also initiates and develops partnerships and oversees LeadIT’s strategic direction.
Robert leads global engagement work with both countries and companies for the LeadIT Secretariat. Over the last ten years, he has lead communications and engagement capacity building efforts and developed effective science-policy communication methods that are focused on results and the needs of stakeholders.
Within the LeadIT Secretariat, Rob is responsible for implementation of the LeadIT Summit and development of industry transition dialogues bringing together country and company members.
Somya Joshi
Global Strategy Lead
Somya leads strategic work at the LeadIT Secretariat with a focus on climate and global agendas. She is an expert in decision making support, stakeholder engagement, technology and process innovation towards realizing the sustainable development goals. Her research has focused on technological innovation, particularly in how it translates data & systems science into transparency and accountability in governance.
Felipe Sanchez
Country Partnerships Lead
Felipe leads the Secretariat’s efforts to suppport two parallel industry transition partnerships between the governments of India-Sweden and Brazil-UK. He brings his expertise in policy development and identifying policy implementation issues.
Arati Davis
Business Co-Development, Lead
Arati is the Secretariat Lead for the pillar of our work that encompasses technology co-development between businesses. She works to bring together different actors within industry to find shared solutions to drive decarbonization and net zero goals.
Arati brings brings extensive experience working with businesses and forging partnerships in the Nordics and India from previous roles with Government, non-profits and Business Councils.
Nadia Mondini
Policy Coordinator
Nadia is a Policy Coordinator at SEI Headquarters – Energy and Industry Transitions Team, Global Agendas, Climate and Systems Division. Within the LeadIT Secretariat, Nadia facilitates international multi-stakeholder collaboration to accelerate the transition to Net Zero in heavy industry and hard-to-abate transport sectors.
Aaron Maltais
Policy Lead
Aaron is the Policy Lead within the LeadIT Secretariat. Aaron is a policy and finance expert with twenty years of experience working on climate and sustainability transitions and engaging with private and public actors.
Within LeadIT, Aaron works together with LeadIT Members from government and industry on policy issues for supporting industrial transitions globally.
Eileen Torres Morales
Analyst
Eileen is an Analyst within the LeadIT Secretariat. With experience in both industry as well as research, her focus is on building knowledge to ensure that governmental, industrial and corporate choices are based on scientific evidence.
Within LeadIT, Eileen carries out data analysis on the state and the pace of heavy industry transition and builds on and further develops our Green Steel Tacker and our Green Cement Technology tracker.
Yani Wang
Program Manager
Yani works as the program manager at the LeadIT Secretariat. In addition to coordinating across the initiative to help meet the program objectives, she works to support the strategic program development to boost coherence, effectiveness, and impact. Her work cuts across all three strategic pillars of LeadIT and she actively engages with partners and members to ensure successful and impactful execution of program activities.
Jane Birch
Communications Lead
Jane leads the Secretariat’s global communications efforts. Her role is to drive impact for the work of LeadIT through communications plans, providing strategic advice to help maximize the global influence.
Within the LeadIT Secretariat, Jane is responsible for planning and developing communications activities on industry transition in collaboration with LeadIT members and partners.
